At the edge of Spa Park, the geothermally heated Otumuheke Stream tumbles down small terraces and mixes with the chilly Waikato River, creating pockets of blissfully warm water to sit in — all for free. It's a short, easy walk from the car park down to the confluence, where you can pick your temperature by moving between the hot inflow and the cool river. A perfect no-cost soak before you leave Taupō, with the powerful river rushing past just metres away.
