Towering nearly seven metres over the main road through Paeroa, this oversized Lemon & Paeroa bottle celebrates the fizzy drink invented here when local mineral-spring water was mixed with lemon. "World famous in New Zealand," the slogan goes, and the giant bottle has been a beloved Kiwiana landmark since 1969. It's pure roadside cheese — and exactly why you stop.
