Jones Family Fruit Stall

food foodroadsidefruit

Beloved Cromwell roadside stall for Central Otago stone fruit, real-fruit ice cream and smoothies.

Why go

The definitive Central Otago pit stop — a real-fruit ice cream and a bag of sun-ripened cherries in the heart of NZ's stone-fruit country.

A Cromwell institution just off the highway, the Jones family stall sells the region's famous summer stone fruit — cherries, apricots, peaches and nectarines — straight from the orchards of New Zealand's fruit-growing capital. The real draw for passing travellers is the real-fruit ice cream, where a scoop of vanilla is churned together with frozen berries before your eyes, plus thick smoothies and bags of just-picked produce.
