Auckland Viaduct Harbour
Waterfront marina district of bars and restaurants — an easy first-evening stroll.
Why go
It's the most relaxed introduction to Auckland — waterside dining and a stroll with no driving required after you pick up the van.
The Viaduct Harbour and adjoining Wynyard Quarter are Auckland's redeveloped waterfront — a former working basin now ringed by superyacht berths, bars and restaurants, and home to the New Zealand Maritime Museum. It's a flat, walkable loop from the city centre across Te Wero pedestrian bridge, lively in the evening and an easy way to shake off the flight on night one.
